Forge Strength Lab is a private strength and movement coaching studio in Boulder, Colorado. Most coaching sessions happen at the studio — but a fair share also run at clients' homes, home gym setups, and outdoor training spaces across Boulder County. This page is where the specifics live: where I currently serve, what on-location coaching actually looks like, and what to know before you book.

Personal Trainer Serving Boulder, CO & Surrounding Communities

The Forge Strength Lab Studio

The Forge Strength Lab studio is on the northeast side of Boulder in a small studio with plenty of room and equipment to accommodate full movements assessments and coaching sessions. It is set up with a functional trainer, an FID adjustable bench, free weights, resistance bands, a TXR suspension trainer, and enough room to move well. This works well because every coaching session is one-on-one and by appointment only. Nothing is contested and nothing is a compromise.

Forge Strength Lab shares the building with a few other small businesses, including a family medical practice that can often provide same-day medical clearance for clients who need it, along with other primary care needs.

Forge Strength Lab On-Location Coaching

On-location coaching is a premium option that brings the essence of Forge Strength Lab to a location that works better for you than the studio. The setting changes; the coaching doesn't. Same programming, same standard, same focus on your specific movements and progression — delivered wherever training makes sense for your life. The additional cost reflects the travel involved, not a compromise in what you receive.

How On-Location Coaching Works

On-Location coaching brings the coaching session to your location, instead of at the studio. Same coaching relationship, same programming — only the setting changes. The training itself is what you do independently between coaching sessions, wherever you normally train.

Your home, a friend's or family member's home gym, or public outdoor training spaces like parks, pavilions, and par courses.

Boulder County has several par courses that work well for outdoor sessions; Waneka Lake in Lafayette has pull-up bars, dip stations, and other bodyweight equipment already installed and free to use. Anywhere coaching can happen with what's available or what we can bring works.

Sessions adapt to your setup. If you're at a park or working with limited equipment at home, we can bring portable tools like resistance bands, a suspension trainer, and other lightweight gear. Not every movement pattern works in every setting, but with the right programming, most goals can be trained effectively in most environments.

On-Location coaching is not available in commercial gyms or member-only facilities (YMCA, private clubs, etc.). Their policies generally don't allow outside coaching. Policies vary though, so it's worth asking your specific gym before assuming. If yours doesn't allow it, any coaching tier still works: you train at your space as usual and come to the studio for your coaching sessions (frequency depends on the tier). The on-location add-on is what’s unavailable; the coaching itself isn't affected.

Getting Started

Every coaching relationship at Forge Strength Lab starts with a Movement & Strength Assessment. The assessment itself happens at the studio. It requires the full range of equipment to evaluate movement patterns, strength baselines, and how you handle load across the major lifts. But on-location coaching involves logistics that don't apply at the studio — your location, what equipment is available, whether the space works for what we're doing. So if you're considering On-Location coaching, call or text first to discuss your situation. Once we've confirmed it's a fit, we schedule the assessment and go from there.

The Cities I Currently Serve Fall into Three Brackets:

Local (~30 min round trip) — $50/session add-on
Boulder, Gunbarrel, Eldorado Springs, Niwot, Superior, Louisville, Lafayette.

These are effectively “same as home” from a scheduling standpoint. If you live in any of these, on-location coaching adds no meaningful friction to the calendar.

Extended (~40 min round trip) — $75/session add-on Erie, Broomfield, Longmont, Lyons.

Still workable regularly. If we're doing 2–4 coaching sessions a month at your place, this is where I'll typically ask that we build the schedule around a consistent day and time so I'm not routing back and forth.

Regional (~50–60 min round trip) — $100/session add-on

Westminster, Arvada.

I accept clients here, but the numbers only work when we're doing enough volume that the drive is worth structuring the calendar around. If you're looking for occasional coaching sessions and you're in this tier, I'd recommend meeting at the studio when you can — you'll save on the on-location add-on and get the full studio setup for the session.

Outside These Areas

Feel free to ask me. The answer is always no until you ask!

I'll be straight with you about whether it works. There are places I turn down — not because I don't want to, but because I can't do good work when I'm burning 90 minutes each way in traffic.
